COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over

HDH, in collaboration with the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit, is pleased to declare the COVID-19 outbreak on the Acute Care, unit to be resolved and over. Admissions, repatriations and services to the unit will resume as normal, ensuring that all usual infection control measures and protocols are in place and being followed with due diligence.
Visiting hours will resume for all essential care partners and non-essential visiting on Monday March 21, 2022. The HDH visiting policy allows for 2 designated visitors per patient, per hospital stay and 1 visit per patient per day between the hours of 2 – 7 p.m. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis and for Emergency Room patients, Obstetrics and Palliative Care. All visitors must adhere to Infection Prevention and Control processes including screening upon entry, washing their hands and wearing a mask at all times while in the building. Proof of vaccination status will be required for all non-essential visitors.
HDH would like to recognize and thank all of our staff and our Outbreak Management Team for all of their due diligence and efforts in ensuring a timely resolve to this situation. We appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility and continued vigilance with infection control practices as we continue to navigate through the pandemic.
