Hanover & District Hospital will continue to Uphold COVID-19 Vaccination and Visiting Policies for the Moment

March 03, 2022

Hanover & District Hospital (HDH) will continue to uphold its vaccination policies and checking of passports for non-essential (social) visitors upon entry throughout the next month, and possibly longer, despite the province loosening its COVID-19 related restrictions.

The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and continues to be a significant risk for vulnerable people that utilize the hospital. HDH strongly feels that it is necessary to maintain the current COVID-19 measures that are in place as a matter of patient safety and for the protection of staff and physicians’ health and well-being.

Non-essential (social) visiting allows for two designated visitors per patient stay with one patient visit per day for Acute Care patients. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination will be required to enter the hospital for social visiting. Restrictions remain in place for the Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory and Surgical Services. More information can be found on our website including possible exceptions.

“We continue to ask for kindness and understanding from patients and the public during these difficult times. HDH must do everything we can to ensure that access to health care will not be compromised,” says Dana Howes, President and CEO.
